Attending: Chairman Bob Simon, Supervisors
Chairman Bob Simon called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Agenda: MOTION (Boelk, Whitty) Approve the agenda. Carried
Minutes: MOTION (Whitty, Boelk) Approve the December 13th minutes as circulated. Carried
Approve Bills: MOTION: (Boelk, Whitty) Approve the bills as presented with the exception of the bill for Weyer Equipment which requires clarification. Carried
Building Permits: Marlin Towne reported that 2 permits were issued this past month.
Memorial Committee: Francis Ferguson reported that the Committee held elections with Tom Kelroy elected as the new Chairman. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at $10.00 each. They are planning a flyover on May 20th Armed Forces Day.
Historical Committee: Tim Hackbarth reported that the next meeting is Monday with speakers Maureen Betz and Wayne King on a trip to
Public Comments: Jeremy Thiesfeldt our State Representative from the 52nd Assembly District was present to introduce himself and answer questions.
Francis Ferguson asked what the cost of the new truck would be and was told the truck would be a Western Star purchased from Quality Truck at a cost of $95,000.
New Business
a) Budget Balances: Current balance is $23,114.16.
b) Recommendation of Plan Commission: The Plan Commission met on December 22 to consider the rezoning of the old Anderson Garage from Business to Industrial. David Spence was in attendance representing Rundle-Spence a plumbing, heating and Industrial wholesaler. The Plan Commission voted in favor of recommending the zoning change from business to industrial. MOTION: ( Boelk, Whitty) to approve the rezoning of the property at N4460 State Road 175 located in the Northeast ¼ of Northwest ¼ Section 10, Township 14 North, Range 17 East, in the Town of Byron from business to industrial. Carried
c) Certified Survey Map for Buechel Stone: Buechel Stone is splitting 5.551 acres including the buildings from the balance of the quarry site. The quarry site has been sold. MOTION: (Whitty, Boelk) To approve the CSM for Buechel Stone located in a part of the NW ¼ of the NE ¼, and a part of the SW ¼ of the NE ¼, section 10, Township 14 North Range 17 East, Town of Byron. Carried
d) Certified Survey Map for Janet Barton: Brad Johnson from New Frontier Land Surveying LLC present a CSM for Janet Barton. It was felt that he would need to revise the survey to have more road frontage. Jan Barton is selling to Brian Kazmierczak 32.416 acres, which includes a right of way to enter the property. Later in the meeting clarification was received regarding the road frontage and the survey was approved.
e) Local Sign Maintenance Program: By January 2012 all agencies have to establish and implement a sign maintenance program that addresses the minimum sign retroreflectivity requirements. The methods to be used can be a visual inspection method, sign age method, blanket replacement method, and a measurement method. If was decided to adopt a local sign maintenance program combining the visual inspection method along with the sign age method. In the future signs will be marked with the date of installation and a record kept. All of the “Stop Ahead” signs were done this past year. A date will be made to do a night inspection some time next week.
f) Set Date to Review Maps as Required by the County: The Fond du Lac County Planning Department has requested each Town to submit their Farmland Preservation Plan Maps by January 20th. All areas planned for non-agricultural development within the next 15 years should be excluded from these maps. A date to complete this mapping will be January 18th at
g) Determine February Bill Payment: The Clerk will be out of State at the time of the February Board Meeting. MOTION: (Simon, Boelk) Approve the Clerks payment of all necessary bills on her return home. Carried
h) WTA District Meeting: The Wisconsin Towns Association will hold their next district meeting on February 24th in Ripon.
i) WTA Convention October 14 – 16:

Correspondence: The Clerk reported that there would be a primary election on February 21 for those living in the
March 1st is deadline for newsletter items to be submitted to Brenda Hackbarth.
Lowell Boelk is to check with the County Highway Department regarding what measures the Town can take to protect roads from logging trucks.
