The Town of Byron has contracted with Waste Management to provide garbage and recycle pick-up once a week on Fridays. If the week contains a holiday, your pick up will be on Saturday. Please put your items out the night before or early the day of pick up. A “Bulky Waste Pick-up” is done once a year in June. Wisconsin laws require you to recycle the following:

  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Cardboard
  • Glass jars & bottles
  • Plastic Containers
  • Aluminium Cans
  • Steel/Tin Cans

Your Responsibilities

  • Separate recyclables from garbage in you home.
  • Prepare recyclables so they are clean and free of contamination.
  • Place recyclables in a recycle container.

What Else Can You Do?

  • Reduce the amount of waste and garbage generated ? and SAVE MONEY - by practicing these waste reduction ideas.
  • Reuse products and containers as much as possible.
  • Recycle when you?re away from home.
  • Get your kids involved!
  • Buy in bulk and buy concentrates.
  • Cut down on unwanted mail by removing yourself from mailing lists.
  • Reuse, mulch or compost yard materials such as grass clippings and leaves.

Used Electronics

These items contain TOXIC substances and Wisconsin?s electronics recycling law establishes a statewide recycling program administered by the Department of Natural Resources.
