To erect and permanently maintain the Veteran’s Memorial to be located in front of the Byron Town Hall. The Veteran’s Memorial is to be erected to honor all Byron Township veterans who have ever served in the United States armed forces, past, present, and future. It is also the committee’s goal to honor all future veterans residing in the township of Byron, Wisconsin by adding their names to the Memorial and to collect and preserve archival records related to these individuals Committee Members John Ferguson – Chairperson Thomas Kelroy – Vice Chairperson Donald Whitty – Secretary / Treasure John Laudolff Jerry Luedtke Meetings: Usually held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Byron Town Hall. - Check Town of Byron web-site for any change in date or time of the meetings. All meeting are opened to the public. Memorial Day Observance:
American Legion Post of Lomira, And the Oakfield VFW Post to honor all who gave their lives for their country.
Names for Memorial:
If anyone knows of a veteran, who lives or has lived or is buried in the Town of Byron,
whose name is not on the Memorial, please let a member of the committee know
so that none who served in the military is forgotten.
Events:
Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner
at the Lomira Legion hall, from 4:00 p.m. 7:30 p.m. - Dinner tickets will be available from
committee members and also at the door.
