Board of Review Minutes

Chairman Francis Ferguson called the Board of Review meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. Present were Chair Francis Ferguson, Supervisors Lowell Boelk and Dave Whitty, Treasurer Lois Towne and Clerk Kay Oestreich. Assessor Scott Borree was also in attendance

There were no scheduled objectors to the Board of Review.
The assessment roll was reviewed. The equalized value of the town is 145,504,300.; the assessed value at 113,326,900; personal property 857,600; manufacturing personal property 1,437,200 and manufacturing real estate 6,325,600 for a total of $121,947,300.
Scott Borree reported that the town assessed values were out of compliance in 2007 and the town has 5 years, from that date, to get back into compliance. Scott recommended that the town not wait that long. In 1997 he brought the town into compliance by doing a walk thru and in 2004 a computer percentage was used. A rule of thumb is to do a walk thru every 12 years. The appraisal service promises a 92% walk thru rate. Scott would recommend a reassessment in 2010. He will send us prices for both options so the town can decide and use the figures for the 2010 budget.
Meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m. with a motion by Dave Whitty and seconded by Lowell Boelk. Motion carried with a vote of 3 ayes.
